The purpose of this project is to enhance the conservation of the endangered African elephant by reclaiming the former wildlife dispersal areas and migratory corridors between Mt. Kenya and Aberdares ecosystems.

Our approaches to this project

  • Campaigns against wanton killings of elephants for ivory by poachers

  • Campaign against the high level and systematic poaching of white and black rhinoceros in the private ranches between Mt. Kenya and Aberdares National Parks.

  • Community and public education and awareness raising on the need to conserve and protect the remaining population of elephants and rhinoceros.

  • Reduce people/elephants conflicts

  • Increase community benefits from conservation

  • Map out the bio-corridor between the two ecosystems

  • Environmental impact assessment and feasibility studies

  • Negotiate with land owners for change of land use through conservation easement arrangements

  • Create artificial pathways for elephants and other wildlife where is heavy infrastructure development such as roads and railway lines
