Mount Kenya Conservation Forum
Why Support Us ?
Reversing biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation is one of the most important challenges of our times. Mt. Kenya Conservation Forum is committed to play its part in responding to this challenge, as is reflected in our mission and conservation programs. Our programs seek to harness the positive opportunities provided by biodiversity and natural ecosystems, as a catalyst for sustainable development. Our conservation agenda recognizes the real value of biodiversity and ecosystems to society—in relation to secure livelihoods, food, water and health, enhanced community resilience to effects of climate change, conservation of flora and fauna and their habitats. In addition, our programs seek to link conservation of biodiversity with socio-economic development. Environmental Education is one our powerful tools that drives our conservation programs.
Conservation areas play a significant role in mitigating effects of climate change (e.g droughts, floods, new diseases and other extreme weather events) through carbon storage and sequestration. Consequently, conservation, protection and restoration of Mt. Kenya ecosystem will go a long way in a ensuring a secure, healthy and a happy society at local, national and international levels.
We look forward to work closely with you to deliver solutions to biodiversity and ecosystem loss, thereby helping contribute towards sustainable development. Conservation of nature is a shared responsibility by all people worldwide. By investing in us, you are making a critical contribution to expanding our conservation mission.
Mt. Kenya Conservation Forum is not- for- profit, charitable, Non Government Organization (NGO) dedicated to conservation of biodiversity, and the environment in general. We therefore solely depend on donations and other forms of support to do our work. We appeal for your support.
