Mount Kenya is a source of clean, renewable energy

 

Mt. Kenya is a source of rich renewable energy resources in form of hydro- electric power. 

 

The main hydro-electricity generation plants for the country are situated along the course of the River Tana and the electricity generated feeds the national grid by more than half of the total national electricity production.

 

These clean energy sources help stop global warming and provide alternatives to fuel wood, hence contributing directly to conservation of Mt. Kenya.
